What Is Included in the Free Business Card Generator?
The free version is the whole current editor. There is no “pro” layout waiting behind a payment screen, no email gate at download and no watermark added after you finish. The goal is simple: give you a small set of good decisions and let you leave with a usable file.
All three layouts are unlocked
Swiss, After Hours and Editorial are available from the same editor. Switch between them while your name, contact information and logo remain in place. Swiss is the most restrained, After Hours has the strongest contrast, and Editorial gives the information a more distinctive side structure.
Four focused color palettes
Each layout can use a curated accent color: Vermilion, Ink, Navy or Sage. The limited palette is intentional. It keeps the card coherent and makes it faster to compare a few strong options instead of sorting through endless near-duplicates.
Logo and QR code included
Upload a PNG, JPG or WebP logo up to 5 MB, or make a text-led card without one. You can also add a static website QR code at no extra cost. The QR code points directly to the URL you enter, without a BusinessCardGen account or redirect dashboard.
PDF, PNG and SVG downloads
PDF, PNG and SVG are all available from the editor. That means you can prepare a print file, share a quick image or hand off vector artwork to a workflow that supports SVG without changing plans or creating a profile.
Free Cards, With a Clear Scope
“Free” should describe the finished action, not just the canvas. You can open the page, enter your details, compare the three layouts and download a file without a credit card or a trial that expires. The current MVP focuses on one-sided cards, a fixed US business card size and a small set of practical exports. It does not try to be a full brand system, a double-sided imposition tool or a collaborative design account.
Your card details and uploaded logo are processed by the browser-based editor. A recent design can be saved in browser storage when it is available, which lets you return on the same browser and device. That local convenience is not a backup service: download the PDF, PNG or SVG when the design matters, and remember that clearing browser data can remove the saved version.

Choose the Right File for Your Needs
The best export depends on what happens after the editor. A business card generator free of signup barriers is useful only if the file also fits the next step, so here is the practical difference between the three formats.
PDF — best starting point for a printer
Choose PDF when you are sending the card to a professional print shop or an online printer. It preserves the intended 3.5 × 2 inch physical size and keeps text and generated QR shapes sharp. Turn on Include ⅛″ bleed for printing when the printer asks for artwork beyond the trim edge. Before placing an order, confirm whether the shop wants bleed, crop marks, a particular color profile or a proof.
PNG — good for sharing and home printing
Choose PNG for a quick preview, an email signature, a portfolio page or a small home print run. The standard export is 1050 × 600 pixels, and the bleed version is 1125 × 675. PNG is an RGB image rather than an infinitely scalable source, so check the image at actual size and avoid letting another application rescale it unexpectedly before printing.
SVG — good for vector handoff
Choose SVG when the next application or designer accepts vector artwork. It is useful for a larger identity workflow, a layout handoff or a tool that needs to scale the card without using a raster image. SVG support varies between applications, so open the exported file in the program you plan to use and check that type, QR code and logo render as expected.
Before You Send a Card to Print
- Read the file at actual size. A card can look generous on a large monitor and feel cramped at 3.5 × 2 inches. Check the name, email, phone number and website one more time.
- Inspect the bleed choice. Bleed is useful when a background or accent reaches the edge, but the printer’s specification is the final authority. Do not assume every shop wants the same setup.
- Test any QR code on paper. Screen scanning is not enough. Print one sample, use more than one phone if possible and make sure the destination is the exact page you intended.
- Keep the downloaded source. Browser storage is a convenience, not an archive. Keep the file that matches the version you approved.

Is there really no signup required?
Correct. You can design and download a business card without creating an account or entering an email address.
Will there be a watermark on my download?
No. PDF, PNG and SVG downloads do not add a BusinessCardGen watermark. The output is the card you designed.
How many cards can I make?
There is no daily download counter or per-session cap in this version. Make as many designs as you need, then keep the files you want.
Can I use my own fonts?
The editor uses a small, deliberate font set: Inter and Lora. If your next tool supports SVG, you can use that file as a starting point for further design work.
Can I make double-sided cards?
The current generator creates one side at a time. You can make a second design separately and ask your printer how they want front and back files prepared.
What if I do not have a logo?
Skip the upload. Swiss and Editorial are designed to look complete with typography alone, and a clear name and contact path are often all a card needs.
Are my details uploaded?
The editor renders the card in your browser and stores a recent design in browser storage when available. Normal website access logs may still exist at the hosting layer; see the privacy page for the current policy.
Are these files ready for every print shop?
They are exported in one US business card size and RGB color space. Ask your printer about bleed, color, paper and proofing requirements before ordering a large run.
